Description
Cow dung is considered sacred in India and is used in a wide-range of religious rituals and worship. Traditionally, fire ceremonies were performed using cow dung cakes and ghee – two products derived from mother cows.
Cow dung cakes at Temple of Compassion are made using fresh cow dung from our beloved mother cows. The cows are grassfed which makes the dung particularly pure and flammable. The dung is collected fresh in the morning, shaped into 2 x 5 brick-like cakes that are easily stackable, and then set out to air dry.
Kriya Yoga ashrams around the country use these same cow dung cakes as part of annual fire ceremonies. They are also purchased by individuals for use in agni hotra and other forms of worship.
These are available for sale for $1 each.
